REQUIREMENT:
- A valid grade 12 certificate
- Proficiency in English
- Valid TLB operators’ certificate
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with traceable references
- Prepared to work at odd and long hours.
- It is mandatory that the successful candidate be of sober habits and medical fit.
DUTIES:
- Operating a backhoe to dig trenches, move dirt, or break up asphalt using a pneumatic drill
- Inspecting safety devices, controls, lubricant levels etc on vehicles/heavy plant and report defects to immediate superior.
- Completing daily inspection sheet and greasing machinery
- Inspecting the site to determine any safety hazards
- Operating industrial machinery such as front-end loaders, forklifts, cranes, bulldozers, or backhoes
- Inspecting work sites for damage to existing structures or equipment
- Removing debris such as rocks, tree stumps, and other materials from sites
- Maintaining accurate records of all activities performed including hours worked and materials used
- Skill full operating and maneuvering of backhoes to dig ditches, trenches, holes and levelling for new sites
- Observing and/or participating in loading/offloading sequences of material and equipment and correcting deviations from safety procedures.
