Purpose of the Position
To provide strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight of the organisation’s IT environment, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable technology systems that support Njilo’s operational delivery and corporate functions.
Minimum Requirements
•Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field
•Relevant certifications (advantageous):
•CompTIA Security+
•Microsoft Certifications
•Cisco (CCNA/CCNP)
•ITIL
•Minimum 7–10 years in IT support/infrastructure
•Minimum 2–3 years in supervisory or leadership role
•Proven experience managing networks, servers, and cybersecurity environments
•Experience in multi-site or operationally intensive environment (advantageous).
Core Responsibilities
•Establish IT governance frameworks, policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
•Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols.
•Implement threat detection, data protection, and access control frameworks.
•Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits.
•Develop and test IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
•Oversee servers, cloud platforms, network architecture, and connectivity.
•Ensure uptime, redundancy, and scalability of infrastructure.
•Manage enterprise software, including ERP, fleet systems, payroll, and financial systems.
•Lead system upgrades, integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.
•Manage IT budget, cost optimisation, and procurement processes.
•Oversee IT asset lifecycle including acquisition, maintenance, replacement, disposal.
•Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service-level agreements.
•Manage relationships with internet providers, cybersecurity vendors, hardware suppliers, and system developers.
•Provide high-level support for complex user issues and lead training initiatives for new systems or software.
•Oversee the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT equipment.
•Develop strategies for cost-effective hardware management and lifecycle planning to support long-term operational needs.
